Garmin Nuvi 370 In Car GPS Sat Nav Review

Garmin Nuvi 370 Sat Nav

Top Of The Range Small Screen Nuvi Takes You From San Francisco To Berlin

We know that the Garmin Nuvi Range is good - very good. There are few in car Satellite Navigation Systems that pack in this much functionality in such a small package.

I'll start off by saying that this version of the Nuvi will only appeal to those of you who need a Sat Nav that has pre-loaded maps of North America and Europe, just like the Tomtom 910, so if plan a fly drive holiday to the States , Canada or Europe, the Nuvi 370 could be the right option for you.

The Navigation System for the Garmin is intuitive to use, all done via the touch-sensitive screen. Type in full Post Codes, Addresses, Favorites or search the 370's massive list of Points of Interest, including Petrol / Gas Stations, Hotels, Restaurants, Hospitals, and many, many more. 3d mapping, day / night modes, voice instruction, the Garmin nuvi 370 will even attempt to read out the names of the roads / motorways you're on, which can sound a little strange on difficult to pronounce phrases.

I've used a Nuvi many times, and it has never let me down. True, the voice isn't as smooth compared to a TomTom, but it's workable, loud enough and I like it.

The Garmin comes with plenty of extras. It is an mp3 player, can read out audio books, store your photo's, and even tell you about the place you're visiting with downloaded travel guides.

Bluetooth Hands-Free calling is built in, so you never need to worry about getting a ticket for phoning while driving, but check for compatability with your mobile first.

Garmin include a free TMC aerial for Traffic congestion avoidance. This is basically a FM aerial that picks up details about snarl ups, and the Garmin will give you the option of going around an taking an alternative route. Free in the UK, you'll eventually have to subscribe in the USA and parts of Europe.

Any complaints? Well, for a device that promises to be the perfect travel companion, why not include a built in camera like the innovative Navman Navpix system, and I still think Garmin could make their voices a little smoother.

Highly recommended for the traveler who needs an in car Sat Nav for Europe and North America.
