It May Be February (At The Time Of Writing) But It's Time For Some Fresh Thinking In My Life....
Right. It may be February as I'm writing this, but it's time to face facts and make things better in my and my families life this year. It's not that I have a bad life, far from it, I have a lovely family and I'm fairly content, but now I want to take it to the next level.
Smoking. I'm a bit worried about my health, so it's time to give up smoking. I'll be keeping a quitters diary, updated daily (maybe....) so by this time next year I'll be smoke free and fitter, and have more money in my pocket to save or spend on better things.
Sleep. A bit of an odd one this, but I'm sure I'd feel much better overall if I got my full 8 hours sleep a night. I have a terrible habit of staying up late watching TV or on the computer - and this makes it hard to get up the next day, making me sluggish and tired, so my next resolution is to always be in bed, preferably asleep by 2330 hours, no later.
Work. Now I have a good job. The hours are longish, but I work very close to where I live, so I 'm home in no time. The problem is that it can put me under quite a lot of pressure, and that can affect my home life. I sort of fell into my career after leaving college and have done the same thing ever since, but I'm not always sure if it's the right vocation for me, and sometimes I feel that my performance at work could be better if I was a lot more demanding of the people who work for me and if I was a lot harder personality wise. So i guess I have a choice, change my personality at work, or find a different job. I'd love to this, webmastering, full-time, but at the moment it just doesn't pull in enough cash on a regular basis.
Ok, I've had a coffee to think about it, and I'm going to change the way I behave at work. I'm going to organise my time so that I can do what I'm paid to do and not get distracted by other things. I will be more demanding of the people that work for me, and I will gather a team of people who have the same work ethic that I do. Easy. I will also keep my eyes open for other jobs and re-activate my cv's on the jobsites, to see if anything else comes up.
Websites. I will add at least one page every two days to my various web sites in order to help reach my goal of becoming a full-time, work at home webmaster, that's my ultimate goal.
I think that will do for now. I'll update when I can to keep you informed, but I will make a difference in 2007.
