Apple MacBook Pro Review

The Daddy Of Mac Laptops - Time To Replace Your Desktop Too?

There's no denying it, the MacBook Pro is one expensive laptop. If you're a power user, one of it's incarnations will be able to do everything you want, and probably replace your Desktop PC.

Coming in two main flavours, the 15" or 17" screen size, we have a wealth of different options to build a custom machine.

Processor wise we're looking at the new Intel Core Duo, the power of two CPU's in one chip, with speeds running from 2.2ghz to 2.6ghz. Ram is available in sizes up to 2gb (expandable to 4gb). You can have up to a 250gb Hard-Drive, a wealth of ports and an expansion slot. An Optical Superdrive rounds off the package, and I guess you have to ask yourself would you need any more?

Why the Power? You'll be doing some heavy duty processing on this beast, post video production, encoding, etc. It's not small and light. Weighing in at 5 and 1/2 pounds, you'll want to buy a nice secure Laptop Case to protect your purchase in transit.

Lets check out a video:

To be honest I'm not sure I'd be able to use the Power on tap with MacBook Pro. All those extra ports and the expansion slot is nice, but maybe the normal Macbook would be better for me.

In conclusion though the MacBook Pro is an impressive piece of kit, and if you want the best Laptop you can buy, this has to be top of your list.
